August already…pt1 – show news

What a busy couple of months, it’s about time I updated our news!

Dilys qualified for The SCCGB’s Smooth Collie of the Year and Veteran of the Year competitions, held in June, she won Reserve Veteran of the Year – clever girl!

In July, Dilys went to Leeds Champ Show under breed specialist Michelle Fort. Not to be outdone by the younger competition, Dilys gained her fifth Challenge Certificate and was Best of Breed and Best Veteran in Breed. She keeps on going!

It was quiet then, with no shows for us until mid-August, with the Smooth Collie Club’s back to back Championship Show and Open Show.

River was entered for the Champ show under breed specialist (and Dilys’ breeder) Delia Moores. Despite having not been in a show ring for 18 months and with her puppies only ten weeks old, she showed her socks off – better than she has ever done before (and reminding me so much of her mum). Elaine was stunned I think when Delia presented River with the Bitch Reserve Challenge Certificate, River’s first much to my delight.

In the afternoon Open Show, Dilys was Best Vintage in Show (for dogs over 10 years old) and Reserve Best Veteran in Show – thanks to Keira for handling her in Deb’s absence.
