The ‘merry’ month of March

The first of the breed Champ Shows was British Collie, holding their 2021 show as well as their 2022 show on the same day. Our pups did well, Hope was Reserve Best Puppy in Breed in the first show and Taggie (her very first show) was Reserve Best Puppy in Breed in the second show, the girls are doing me proud. Remi was also present at the first show, gaining 3rd place and qualifying for Crufts 2023. Andrea brought Dolly (K. Sweet Dreams of Lizoni) and I was really chuffed when she gained 1st and 2nd Post Graduate bitch in the two shows. It was a really nice day, catching up with friends and we were so happy to see Abby, Louise & Fay finally make up their blue girl, Digit, about time too!

For the first time in over a decade, I went to Crufts without a dog. Well, without one of mine – I accompanied Elaine with Obi (who was a good boy and placed 2nd in his class). It was nice to sit ringside and watch the judging without feeling rushed at all.

As an aside from showing and the dogs, I must say thank you to Amber Marie (Biro Portraits) for the wonderful design of Dilys carrying the Ukrainian flag whilst running through a field of sunflowers. For those who don’t know, our affix (Koczkodan) is named after my grandfather, who was Ukrainian. The current situation is heart wrenching for me and my family and we hope that the people of Ukraine will overcome the Russian invaders, slava Ukraini!
